ABOUT ME
Teaching was an unknown passion throughout my whole life from playing school with my little sister to directing elementary and middle school productions at my community theatre. I fully realized my love for teaching when I started tutoring a friend in high school and saw that I could be an effect on someone’s internal confidence.
I believe that school should be a place to grow as an individual and the subjects we teach are merely tools to live the best way you can. As a teacher, I’m not a lecturer and I’m not a grader, I’m a guide for students to learn new things about themselves through the challenges of learning. Creativity is the most crucial aspect of teaching in my opinion and I expect that teaching math will require lots of it. I strive to think outside the box and help students understand math through their own individual beautifully unique way.
I’m a math education major at CSU and I’m very active in the theatre arts department. In my off time I volunteer to market local art and music events around the community with the Artery and in the summers I hike almost every weekend. My friends consist of mostly international students so learning about other people’s culture is very important to me. I hope to be able to teach outside the United States and start education programs that are able to connect art and creativity to math
